Healing songs are a newer style of singing from the Native American Church (or Peyote Church) without the accompaniment of the peyote water-drum or gourd-rattle and are meant to facilitate meditation and prayer and provide comfort and peace for the singers and listeners. This recording features noted Navajo peyote singers Jimmy Knight Jr. who is well known in the Four Corners region, performing a soothing collection of twenty-two Navajo healing songs.
