Circles of the World
Traditional Art of the Plains Indians
An excellent catalog of the Circles of the World exhibit that traveled to museums around the world from 1982 - 1985. The introduction is written by the late Richard Conn, who was an authority on Plains Indian culture and curator at the Denver Art Museum. He writes about Plains life including the tipi, etiquette, moving, clothing, marriage and courtship, military societies, religion, and other aspects. The rest of the book is dedicated to presenting many items of the exhibit in both color and black and white photographs. There are pipebags, shirts, moccasins, ledger art, dresses, and much more. This book is out of print and is limited to stock on hand. These are all mint, new copies that we purchased years ago.
