Through his award-winning art, and the stories and tales of the old-timers, Goble examines the construction and art of the tipi, which was more than a simple dwelling for the Plains Indians, but rather an expression of their belief in the spirituality of the world around them.

While Goble is known mostly for childrens books and while this book is suitable for all ages, this is a serious work on the Plains tipi and includes more tipi designs than any other single source we know of. Absolutely gorgeous and also includes illustrations of tipi liners, parfleche, and more. A great resource!
