Noting how Native American feelings towards white hobbyists were changing, a brief article describes how Ron Petite, midwest American Indian Movement (AIM) leader, forced State Fair officials in Des Moines IA to "fire" a group of Boy Scout Indian dancers and hire Mesquakie Indian dancers instead. Mr. Petite vowed AIM leaders would be there everyday "with a drum and start ripping their (the Scouts) fake Indian cloths off until they stop." The Boy Scouts "insulted Indian culture."
