Live at Taos Pow Wow '98
In July of 1998, High Noon served as host drum at the 14th Annual Taos Pueblo Powwow. The beautiful setting below Taos Mountain and the friendly hospitality of the Taos Pueblo people made High Noon feel very good, and these good feelings are expressed in their singing on this recording. Although High Noon has recorded several albums in Canada and the U.S., this is the first time they have ever been recorded live at an outdoor event. High Noon was started in 1976 by Simon Noon and Dan Thunderchild of the Thunderchild Reserve, Saskatchewan. Over the past 22 years, High Noon has followed the original way of singing, and has traveled all over Canada and the U.S. winning numerous singing contests. Most notably, winning first place in the Northern Original Style and the Overall Championship categories at the Schemitzun World Championship of Song and Dance in Connecticut in 1995 and 1996.
