The Heron Smiled
Anishinaabe singer/songwriter Annie Humphrey sings insightful love songs and thought-provoking political anthems. Her contemporary style has an extra edge, a stronger-for-surviving aspect that provides deep feelings to the words. Annie began writing songs as a child and has been performing for 14 years. She also teaches cultural activities to youth on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in Northern Minnesota. Good friend, John Trudell, contributes poetry and vocals.
